We're officially into 2012! Wow! Many new designs are in store and some are already listed in the shop. Be sure to stop by and check them out. Getting Ready for the Designs of 2012

I simply cannot believe that 2011 is coming to a close shortly! It seems almost impossible...this year has been nothing short of a whirlwind!...but a great one, indeed. The Chica Boutique really started taking off in the late summer of this year. I'm so proud of my brand and I'm beyond excited to take you to 2012 with the latest and greatest of The Chica Boutique. There will be many new additions to the shop (EEEK!!), as well as a new sister brand to TCB!

We have some big plans with photographers nation-wide. Also, some very exciting TCB weddings are coming up!! Whoa!

Another update from TCB! It's been a busy, busy time here! There are many new bridal garter designs in the shop. Be sure to check them out!

In other news, there is a lot in store for TCB. We're partnering with Emmaline Bride for a Giveaway in the next couple of weeks,as well as Laura Winslow Photography for another giveaway where TCB is donating a $100 Gift Card. Seriously!

Once again, it seems to have taken me too long to update this blog. Busy is an understatement with how things have been going in the shop. It's been wonderful! Lots of brides wearing TCB on their most special day and so many fun photo shoots that I've been designing for.

I have many new colors of the Dupioni Silk in stock for the bridal garter sets. Purples, Greys, and Lavender seems to be a current trend as I've had many custom orders for those colors. So, TCB has stocked up with lots! Any custom color is always an option. If I don't have it in stock I can place a special order. So, send me your wishes!

The Fall Line is so classic. Simple and very wearable for everyday! My own little girls will be sporting their little plaid cocktail hats with their sweet peacoats and MaryJane shoes. Perfect for a Sunday morning.

Hi everyone! Has it really been almost a month since my last update? Let me try to cram in what has been going on in TCB this month in a short little paragraph and photos (as I have 30 little fingers also wanting, and rightly so, all of my attention). Things are really getting busy...so grateful...so happy. To be pursuing a passion and having GOD be so good! And THANK YOU to each of you!!! I have new headpieces out, new bridal garter designs, been shipping all over the US, and overseas. LOVE it!

And guess what else!?! Here is some WILD CrAzInEsS!!! TCB is going to be featured in the upcoming September/October issue of ChildStyle Magazine, based out of California! Very exciting! And I'm also working on a TCB Original Halloween Headpiece for their photoshoot! SOOOO Happy....GOD is sooo good!

Busy Summer Here at TCB!

Usually summer means a little "downtime"....not with wedding season here! But, I honestly LOVE every moment of it!!! I love working with brides so much. And I know that I'm doing what I'm passionate about because I'm a little "addicted" to my work. I can hardly sleep at night...wake up at 4:30 am to hammer out designs. It seriously feeds my soul.

So, many new designs in the shop! The bridal garter sets have been very popular. I have added two new designs to the Vintage Romance Bridal Garter Line. And I've recently launched a new line of bridal garters in the Garden Couture Line. They are so sweet! If you are a bride or friend of the bride...these are heirloom quality and make stunning gifts for the bride and will be beautiful framed afterwards.

The Chica Boutique has also been collaborating with photographers for some awesome photo shoots. I'll attach a few shots here. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them! TCB is a little over-the-top and I take it and GO!

TCB Cocktail Hats

A couple of weeks ago The Chica Boutique met up with amazing photographer, Rachel Blackwood, and Becca Caney, of Darling Deuce Designs, to shoot a few of the new cocktail hats. I love how these turned out. My perfect vision for these.

Where on earth would you wear a cocktail hat? Oh girl, they are so feminine...simply gorgeous. They are going to be perfect for a fun night on the town, sitting at your favorite martini bar, or worn to compliment your dress to a summer wedding. You will be the head-turner, for sure.

Peacock Wedding

Peacock-themed weddings are hot this year! I've been working with several brides who are incorporating this most beautiful feather into their weddings. The colors in this feather are absolutely incredible...I mean, really incredible. Up until now, I've always thought they were beautiful. But, actually working with them so closely and intricately...whoa...I just can't believe they're natural. Amazing color tones. The perfect palette, for sure.

My girls are always willing to help me out with modeling....especially Annaliese. I guess I've always used Annie more than Maggie just because she's older. But, look at little Miss Maggie shine in these photos. I love them so much. All of them. What I love most about Maggie's photos is that her smile is SO genuine..totally HER. In each of these that I captured she was looking at her big sister and laughing. And she was just so excited that I was taking her picture with my design. I will NEVER forget those moments. I love my sweet girlies!! And YeS!...these designs are over-the-top! Like....way over. I love em'!

Happy May, Collaborations and Time Management

How's that for a title? So, first off...Happy May! Is it just me or is this year flying by at a rapid pace? The Chica Boutique has been so busy since I launched this new line of accessories...especially the bridal line. I love working with brides. I love that my designs will not only be a part of their special day, but be passed down for generations. I really make it a point to focus on the bride as I make her piece. I imagine her wearing it on the biggest day of her life. It's just really special. Each time someone lets The Chica Boutique be a part of their wedding day, it is beyond words for me. This is a day that brides dream about from the time they're a little girl. They dream about what their hair will look like and what piece they will wear. They dream about throwing the garter. I love being a part of it.

The Chica Boutique is collaborating with some of my favorite photographers. Karen Roberts Photography, based in Georgia, is one of my faves. She found me on Etsy, ordered a few pieces, and we've been working together ever since. Very fun. She does the photography for most of my KaLeIdOsCoPe Line. She loves working with color, so this is perfect. Her latest shoot with my pieces was with Devon Waits, Atlanta Falcons cheerleader. Gorgeous. I'm attaching some of those photos in this post. We are working on a fun collaboration right now for a photo shoot in a couple of weeks. More to come on that.

Now, the time management issue. This post has taken me 3 days to write. I'm trying to find the balance in my life between my three children, homeschooling, keeping up with our home and working on orders...and new designs! Somehow it all seems to fall into place, though. My house is not always beautiful, as you an imagine with three children 4 and under. My type A personality has had to take a backseat at times. I've had to learn to let some things go. For those of you who work out of your home, how do you manage everything? I've begun limiting the amount of orders I take per week just so I can make sure I can handle the load and make sure each piece is exceptional. That's my Type A. ;)

Hello! And Happy Sunday...again. How did another week go by so fast?

This has been such a fantastic week for The Chica Boutique. First off, one of my great friends connected me with a fabulous, very well-known wedding photographer who saw my designs and contacted me. He has a styled shoot coming up in a couple of weeks that he will use for editorial submission, and I designed a few pieces for him. Very cool. I can't wait to share more on that.

The Chica Boutique was also featured on Emmaline Bride! How fun! I love this site and just couldn't believe they found my garters! I was just browsing through my morning internet rituals and, whoa!, it took a minute for it to hit me. I'm so used to seeing my own photographed designs, that it almost slipped right past me. They were actually being featured on another site! :)

This week I also received an invitation from the Etsy Wedding Divas to join their team. So happy! This team features the best of the best in all things wedding.

Oh, there are just so many fun things going on with The Chica Boutique right now and I'm struggling to keep up with the blog. I'm going to try and do better, though, because it truly is important to me. I love keeping you guys in the loop.

I'm hoping to find the time to add more content for you guys who are true followers of my work. Maybe make it a little more interactive. ;) I have so many things to "talk" about. Trends, Fashion, the Craziness, Business. The problem is, I have so much on my mind between designs and content to share that sometimes I just feel overwhelmed and obviously, the blog suffers. And for the actual content to get better, I may just have to run away to a coffee shop to update. There's a lot going on around here between diapers and tricycles. ;)

In the meantime, I was doing really good updating the times I was featured in treasuries on Etsy. I've slacked on that. But, I will leave you with a couple that I love. The last one is a new couture head piece I recently added to the shop. Many lovely details and hours spent on this piece. I'm getting some better photos from my photographer, which should be in soon! I will be adding more beautiful bridal pieces in the next couple of days.

I am in awe over these beautiful photos by the talented, Rachel Blackwood. The sash is so sweet and she did a great job of capturing what my vision was for these. There are still some photos coming from this session. So excited to see!

What a week.....seriously busy and exciting. My little design studio, er closet, is stacked high with beautiful silks. It's actually a really beautiful site. Working with fine silks is not a shabby job. I think I have designed six bridal garter sets, two (and three more in the making) silk sashes, and eight custom hair pieces over three days. The Secret?---> Both girls spent Friday night with their grandmother and I'm not sure if I slept at all.

It's been a fun week. I'm not going to reveal the whole sha-bang just yet, but in short, I was contacted by a bridal magazine out of California and they want to feature my designs!! Holy Moly! The theme of the photoshoot is red, orange and ivory. They want a sash and garter set in those colors. Fun, huh? The magazine goes to print in June and the issue will be out in August! That seems like so far away...but, I know in the magazine world they plan ahead...way ahead. So, I'm putting the finishing touches on the sash and it will be ready to send off!

Catching my Breath....

I've said it before....I truly love each and every customer I've had! It brings me such joy to design beautiful, unique things. The blocks and party decor are no exception. However, until I find a partner, I'm going to be backing off the blocks and party decor for a while. My Belle et Chic line is gaining popularity and I'm putting the time I have towards that. When I started my business a little over a year ago, it was for fun! I never dreamed I would have the response I did, and I feel so blessed. I wish I could do it all. But, I'm having a hard time keeping up with orders. With that all said, I hope you all stay on board with me and follow along my new journey!! As you can tell, I'm having so much fun with the new Belle et Chic line of The Chica Boutique. You'll see lots more with it in the coming months. The bridal line is one of my favorites to design. The custom bridal garters make me want to get married all over again. The hair pieces are so elegant and chic...very versatile even after the wedding day. The sashes are so beautiful. I'm currently working on a couple of designs with those and have partnered with another dress maker, who makes the most gorgeous shabby chic dresses for little girls. More on that to come! It's always fun to photograph my new designs, but I especially love getting my girls in on the action. Annaliese had fun modeling this one! She felt really special a couple of weeks ago when I asked her to "Bring me your head, Annie!", so I could see how a bridal piece was going to fit. She loves playing bride!

This was such a fun custom order to work on. I think her wedding colors are so fresh. This was made using beautiful silks from India and a beautiful crystal rhinestone centerpiece. Each bridal garter set that I design comes with a coordinating toss garter.

This is a 12 x 12 photo prop block made for a photography shoot up in Michigan. This is definitely the largest that has been made in The Chica Boutique to date. After several hours of sweat and getting correct measurements, I think it came together beautifully.

After searching and searching for perfection in a ring, I have finally found someone to work with who custom makes these gorgeous ring bases. These are a beautiful Patina Copper...oh, so pretty. They are 100% brass. Just the right gauge. Not flimsy & cheap, but still adjustable. They will be a little higher in price than the first batch of designs, but rightfully so...they will put that little spring in your step. Hotness. XXOO
